KKFI 90.1 FM is a small, independent community radio station which broadcasts from the Westport Area (900 1/2 Westport Road) in Kansas City, MO. It is a full 100,000 watt non-commercial public licensed radio station that reaches an approximate 80 mile radius of Kansas City, including St. Joseph, Mo, Cameron, MO, Topeka, KS , Lawrence, KS and Ottawa, KS just to name a few of the surrounding areas. Programming is provided by volunteer DJs with a passion for the music that they are playing. KKFI is home to genres such as Blues, Jazz, Metal, Hip Hop, AAA, Reggae, Tejano, Rock En Espanol, Rockabilly, and Regional Mexican just to name a few. KKFI also offers alternative news such as the syndicated show, Democracy Now and locally produced talk shows.

KKFI currently features 14 hours of Latino broadcasting each week in crystal clear stereo sound: The Latino schedule is as follows)

Sunday: Herencia Musical (with Luis Garcia ) Regional Mexican 7-9am

Monday: Fiesta Musical (with Tomas, Dan the Man, and IV) Tejano 7-10pm

Tueday: Taste of Tejano (with Manny and Viviana) Tejano 7-10pm

Wed: Rompiendo La Oscuridad (with Jorge Taboada) Rock en Espanol 7-10 pm

Thursday: Sabor Latino (with Beti Montez) Regional Mexican 7-10 pm

KKFI was founded to serve the people in the community who go unserved in the radio media. Since we are non commercial the biggest part of our funding comes directly from our listeners. They make it all possible through their financial support. 2-4 times a year fundraisers are held to help sustain the costs of running a radio station.
