Carlos Mencia, star of the Comedy Central series, Mind Of Mencia, will bring his brand of comedy to The Cotillion Ballroom in Wichita,KS on Wednesday, September 13. Mencia is known for his colorful and sometimes offensive comedy as well as signature catch phrase "De De De". Dos Mundos Celebrates 25 Years of Service

Dos Mundos, Kansas City's original bilingual newspaper celebrates 25 years of service with a fiesta on the westside this weekend, August 19, 2006. The event will be held along Southwest Boulevard and Summit and will feature food, music, and entertainment. The entire event is free and open to the public. Bands scheduled to perform include: La Manana Band, Mafia Nortena, Jr Vargas Y Picante, Las Estrellas, and Tejas Records recording artist Invicto. La Manana Band and Las Estrellas have always been favorites in the Kansas City area. La Manana Band is is the process of launching their new website www.mananaband.com . Las Estrellas play at many local events and run their own sound a lighting company T&G Productions. Jr Vargas Y Picante are from Topeka, KS and have quickly earned the respect of the audience with their energetic on stage presence. Mafia Nortena, is the area's top Norteno Band. The have recorded nationally for Discos Joey and have appeared on many television programs such as Despierta America on Univision. They have just released their latest cd "En Coma" for their own JZ Records. NEW COMEDY ALBUM ARRIVES IN STORES NATIONWIDE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
Grammy Award nominated comedian George Lopez will release his new CD entitled “El Mas Chingon” (“The Baddest”) in stores nationwide on Tuesday, September 26th from Oglio Records. Lopez is the star and co-creator of the hit ABC sitcom, “George Lopez” that will be entering its sixth season this fall.

“El Mas Chingon is the follow up to my Grammy nominated CD ‘Team Leader’,” explains Lopez adding, “I know my fans will love the new material which is inspired by the continuing dysfunction in my life, both past and present. I guess I could see a therapist but this is more fun!!” The new album will mark the third venture between Lopez and Oglio Records.

Having become one of television’s biggest celebrities, Lopez recently was bestowed with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition to his success on the small screen, Lopez maintains an extremely active schedule as a stand-up comedian, selling-out prestigious arena venues coast-to-coast. With his new comedy album, George’s observations on Latino culture and his own life reveal him to be one of the most real and honest comedians working today.

George has received numerous awards including the Image Vision Award, the Latino Spirit Award for Excellence in Television and the National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award.
